I’m a freelance designer and illustrator living in the Cotswolds, UK. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve spent a good part of my life immersed in the world of design and illustration, developing a broad set of skills along the way. I also run a successful online store selling procreate brushes and graphic assets called Mel’s Brushes

While I’ve been lucky enough to explore different areas of this industry, there are a few areas I’ve grown to specialise in: illustration, surface pattern design, digital design, and branding. Each of these elements has allowed me to approach design from a variety of angles, helping me understand the best way to represent an idea or a story visually.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the chance to work with all sorts of clients from different fields. It’s provided me with the opportunity to adapt my style and technique to suit all kinds of needs, and it’s a challenge I always enjoy. No matter your vision, I feel confident in my ability to translate it into a beautiful design that reflects your unique identity.

How does the design process work?

My main focus is to make sure that your design and illustration needs are met to the fullest. To do that, I start by listening to your ideas and understanding your vision for the project, then I’ll provide you with a quote. I then begin my research and brainstorming, getting creative to ensure that we get the best possible outcome. I’ll keep you updated with sketches and mockups of the design process so that we can collaborate together and make any changes until the final design is just what you’re looking for. It’s important to me that we have open communication throughout to make sure that I’m creating a design that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. Once you’re fully happy with it, I’ll provide you with the finished product so that you can implement your design.
